The Kiwi House and native bird park in Otorohanga is owned and operated by the Otorohanga Zoological Society, Inc., a non-profit organisation dedicated to the conservation of New Zealand's native wildlife through education, display and breeding programs.
Within the park you will find nocturnal kiwi houses, New Zealand's largest aviary, Live Tuataras and many of New Zealand native and endangered birds. You could encounter kiwi, morepork, pukeko and wekas. Also New Zealand's native parrots such as kea, kaka and kakariki. The park offers a chance to see many native animals you might not necessarily get to encounter in the wild.
