What is the Experience?

Explore the Dart River Delta on this unique eco-adventure. You’ll take charge of an electric four-wheel-drive vehicle, allowing you to explore this remote alpine paradise at your own pace - in comfort and silence! Travel a distance of ten kilometres beneath snow-capped mountains, and wide alpine skies. For two hours you’ll experience breath-taking scenery that makes this area globally renowned - and with interactive GPS technology fitted on each vehicle, you’ll learn about the local wildlife, history and geology of the area as you go. A perfect adventure fit for the whole family!

Where is this located?

Delta Discovery's Office is at the Dart Bridge located on the Routeburn-Glenorchy Road. Approximately 10 minutes from the Glenorchy township. Glenorchy is approximately  45-1 hour drive from Queenstown.

This is ideal for small groups, families and couples who want to venture out and see New Zealand's beautiful scenery off the beaten track each self-drive vehicle carries up to three people.

Interesting fact?

The first European settlers arrived at the Head of the Lake probably in late 1861 and started sheep farming this was the beginning of farming for the community which has continued until the present day. While the farming of sheep for wool and meat has always been the main focus of the industry there are also cattle for beef and more recently deer farming.
